Kimberlie Massnick, PhD is a criminologist who specializes in sexual offenders and serial killers. She is an assistant professor of criminal justice at Indian River State College where she believes that learning needs to get out of the classroom. She stages crime scenes instead of giving traditional exams, takes her students out to assist law enforcement with searches and participates in countless opportunities with the homeless, addicted and juveniles in need. Massnick believes that to be a great professor one needs to be a lifelong learner.

About Alina Burroughs:

Alina Burroughs holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.  Alina is a former Senior Certified Crime Scene Analyst and instructor of Forensic Science at the college level.  Alina is a published author in the Journal of Forensic Identification and has received awards for Investigative skill from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.  Alina joined FARO as an Applications Engineer to support the Public Safety vertical and is currently a Senior Applications Engineer Expert for Public safety, specializing in training Focus Laser Scanner & Scene software.

About Natalie Schilling:

Natalie Schilling is a Professor of Linguistics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is internationally recognized for her research on language variation and change. She regularly teaches Sociolinguistics (language and society) and Forensic Linguistics and has given more than 100 presentations at U.S. and international academic conferences, university academic departments, and forensic linguistics training workshops on the scientific analysis of language evidence. Her audiences have ranged from the FBI (NCAVC, BAU-1) to incarcerated persons in maximum security prison. She has served as a forensic linguistics expert in cases ranging form authorship attribution to speaker profiling. 

Natalie has been played on TV twice--once in Criminal Minds (the character Alex Blake was partly based on Natalie) and once in the recent Manhunt: Unabomber series, where 'Natalie Rogers' was based on the real Natalie.

About Barbara Trathen:

Barbara spent over twenty years as a prosecuting attorney, including four years with a specialty in the investigation and trial presentation of homicide cases. Prior to that she was the lead prosecutor in several high-profile murder cases, as well as the co-prosecutor in the Mike Tyson rape trial. Barbara was also a technical advisor for the crime drama Close to Home, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, which was based in part on her early years as a prosecutor.
