Jen was part of the launch team at “Crime Watch Daily” producing a wide array of in-depth crime stories including: human trafficking, juveniles sentenced to life in prison, domestic violence homicides and online “sweetheart” scams.


Prior to “Crime Watch Daily,” Jen produced for “Good Morning America” and the ABC News platforms. She kicked off her career at CBS’ “Entertainment Tonight” & “The Insider,” spearheading headline generating exclusives including breaking the Janice Dickenson sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby and the Anna Nicole Smith saga.

He began his professional journey as an insurance agent, dedicating eight remarkable years to the field. As life's chapters unfolded, he discovered a newfound passion for podcasting.


Today, as the host and creator of ""Hide and Seek,"" he delves deep into the world of unsolved mysteries, bringing obscured stories into the limelight. His groundbreaking work on the first season, featuring the case of victim Nancy Moyer, garnered significant attention, leading to its selection for CrimeCon's esteemed 1st CrowdSolve event.


Outside of his podcast, James's insights and expertise have been recognized and broadcasted on platforms such as Oxygen TV and Discovery Plus networks. While his professional achievements are noteworthy, personal moments hold a special place in his heart. NICKI WEISENSEE EGAN

​​Nicki Weisensee Egan is an award-winning journalist, podcast host, and former People magazine senior writer turned author who was the first reporter in the world to dig deeply into the Bill Cosby drugging and sexual assault scandal in 2005 when she worked at the Philadelphia Daily News, breaking story after story while other reporters shied away. When the scandal bubbled up again in October 2014 she was able to quickly reconnect with those victims and sources and began breaking exclusive stories for People, including the news of Cosby’s arrest on Dec. 30, 2015.She continues to covers it to this day on her Substack, CHASING JUSTICE, has written opinion pieces about the case for The Daily Beast, The Cut, the Los Angeles Times,The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The London [Sunday] Times and is a frequent guest on podcasts discussing the case.


During her tenure at People Egan convinced subjects of some of the nation’s most high-profile crime and human-interest cases to tell their story to her before talking to any other media. When Brittany Maynard, the 29-year-old terminally ill woman who became the face of the controversial right-to-die movement before ending her own life on Nov. 1, 2014, she talked about her decision first with Egan.After Andrew Madoff, one of Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff’s two sons, found out his cancer had returned, he opened up only to her. When Illinois cop Drew Peterson, suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife, holed up in his home to avoid the hordes of media camped outside his front door in November 2007, Egan convinced him to do an interview. He snuck out the back door of his home, jumping over his fences, to meet with her at a neighbor’s home. And in 2017 Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald, the Green Beret surgeon convicted of murdering his wife and two children in 1970, broke his 13-year silence to explain to her why he will never stop fighting to prove his innocence. 


Egan left People in June 2017 and published her first book, CHASING COSBY, in April 2019 then hosted and executive produced a podcast based on the book, which debuted in January 2020. Her second book, VICTIM F, which she co-authored with the subjects of the book, came out in June 2021. She ghost wrote her third book, a memoir for a client, and is currently working on several other book, podcast and television projects. She also works as an investigator for On Point Investigations.

ANNE GAROFALO PATERNO

Anne Garofalo Paterno is a multi-award winning veteran true crime writer, executive producer, and showrunner who's been an integral part of the genre for almost 30 years. She got her start at KCBS-LA as a production assistant on one of the original “Trials of the Century”: The OJ Simpson criminal trial. Julie Grant brings a powerful blend of journalism experience and legal expertise to Court TV network! The iconic brand relaunched in May of 2019, and Julie was chosen to be one of the faces of the network. The licensed attorney, former prosecutor and trial expert earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron. She further developed her trial expertise by earning her Master of Laws (LL.M.) with Honors in Trial Advocacy from Temple University’s School of Law. While serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Allegheny County, PA (Pittsburgh), Julie tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases before both judges and juries. Presently, she enjoys teaching trial advocacy. She has taught in Temple’s highly regarded LL.M. program and served as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.


Julie is also an award-winning journalist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media from Mount Union College, and has worked as an anchor and reporter at three television stations: WTOV in Steubenville, OH, WGHP in Greensboro, NC, and KDKA in Pittsburgh, PA, where she was also the station’s legal editor. Her notable interviews include civil rights leader and literary icon Dr. Maya Angelou, famed criminal defense attorney F. Lee Bailey, world-renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle.

Karyn Greer has been part of the WSB-TV Family since September 2022 and anchors Channel 2 Action News at 5 p.m. Greer has served as an anchor and investigative reporter in the Atlanta market for more than 30 years. She has a history of hands-on community involvement and can be seen hosting breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other fundraising events all over Georgia.   

 

Greer is the past president of the Atlanta Press Club and currently serves on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences. She is the recipient of 10 Southeast Emmy awards, two awards from the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and a Salute to Excellence award from the National Association of Black Journalists. Greer is a member of the Magnolia chapter of The Links Inc, a

charter member of the Greater North Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc., on the board of Pebble Tossers Inc., and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. to name just a few.

 

Throughout her career Greer has been the recipient of numerous awards honoring both her professional work and community contributions. She has consistently been named one of Atlanta's 100 Women of Influence by the Atlanta Business League and featured as a powerhouse in Who’s Who in Black Atlanta."

Veteran journalist Angeline Hartmann has been telling unique stories of crime victims and their families for more than two decades. In 2018, she launched her podcast, “Inside Crime with Angeline Hartmann” to deliver fresh perspectives from the real people impacted behind the headlines.


In addition to her podcast, Angeline is the Director of Communications at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, where she uses her media expertise to help families find their missing loved ones and serves as a spokesperson for the organization. Dean Jobb won the inaugural CrimeCon CLUE Award for true crime book of the year in 2022 for The Case of the Murderous Dr. Cream (Algonquin Books), the story of a Victorian era poisoner who killed at least ten people in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. His previous book on a 1920s Chicago con man, Empire of Deception (Algonquin), won the Chicago Writers Association and Crime Writers of Canada nonfiction prizes. Dean’s monthly true crime column, “Stranger Than Fiction,” appears in Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine and he also writes for CrimeReads, The Irish Times, and the Washington Independent Review of Books.

Leah Rothman is the creator, writer, and host of THE REAL KILLER, in-depth, documentary- style podcast, which launched in 2021. The first season focuses on the horrific murder of JoAnn Tate, the vicious attack on her two young daughters, and the wrongful conviction of Rodney Lincoln. Proudly, Leah was invited to lead a panel discussion at CrimeCon 2022 with those at the very center of this first season's story. The second season of THE REAL KILLER focuses on Keith LaMar, a man sitting on Ohio’s Death Row, who says he’s innocent of killing five men during one of the longest prison riots in U.S. History.


Prior to THE REAL KILLER, Leah worked at CRIME WATCH DAILY, writing and producing numerous true crime stories during their entire three-year run. Two of her three Daytime Emmy nominations came from the work she did on this show. Emily Snyder is an executive producer and showrunner for the true crime series “People Magazine Investigates.” Emily has been spearheading the series since 2016 and is finishing production for the sixth season, which is scheduled to air this summer on Investigation Discovery and D+. Ms. Snyder got her start in a life of crime as the series associate producer and later as a producer for the long running juggernaut, “The First 48,” and its companion series, “After the First 48.” From there she’s gone on to produce for “20/20” among a host of other series. What keeps her inspired and passionate about the genre is the victims and their families. Each of them has a story to share who touched the lives of many and it’s important they are remembered. Emily lives in southern California with her husband, their two children and their small dog. She grew up in Vermont and is a graduate school dropout from UC Berkeley’s Journalism School.

Glenn Stout is the author or editor of more than 100 books covering a wide variety of subjects, including the critically acclaimed “Tiger Girl and the Candy Kid: America’s Original Gangster Couple.” His biography of Trudy Ederle, “Young Woman and the Sea” is currently in production as a film for Disney+, starring Daisy Ridley. William "Bill" Thomas is a podcaster, consulting producer, writer, and executive in entertainment, communications, and victim advocacy. Based in Norfolk, CT, Bill has been an artist representative for 30 years, is past chair of film and television organization FilmLA, Director of Public Affairs & Chief of Staff for music licensing organization ASCAP in New York, and has held senior executive roles for artist unions SAG-AFTRA, the American Federation of Musicians and Art Directors Guild in Los Angeles. 


Bill is a nationally recognized advocate for victims of violent crime and leads a group seeking answers in the unsolved “Colonial Parkway Murders” in Virginia. With his podcasting partner Kristin Dilley, he is cohost and producer of the popular “Mind Over Murder” true crime podcast.  He was also a consulting producer on the “Lover’s Lane Murders’ true crime series for the Oxygen Network in 2021.  On the entertainment beat, Bill is one the executives credited with adding 20 years to the U.S. copyright term, adding billions in income for songwriters, composers and music publishers, and spearheading merger of Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Radio and Television Artists to form union SAG-AFTRA.

RENEE WILLIAMS

National Center for Victims of Crime


Renée Williams is the Executive Director of the National Center for Victims of Crime. She also serves as the Director of the National Crime Victim Bar Association, an affiliate program of the National Center. Prior to taking the helm of the NCVBA, Renée was the executive director of a legal services organization in Pittsburgh, which focused on the legal rights of victims of domestic violence and other indigent clients. Renée is seasoned in nonprofit leadership, also serving as a board member for Athena International and Voices in Action. Renée is passionate and stays connected to the community as well. She mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters, volunteers at Children’s National Hospital, and advocates for children as a court-appointed special advocate. For these efforts, she has been recognized as an Athena Young Professional Finalist, named one of Pittsburgh’s 40 under 40, and received a Jefferson Award. Renée completed her undergraduate studies in theatre arts at Point Park University and subsequently received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law.
