JAY CHERRY


Jay E. Cherry and his wife, Kathleen, are the owners of Eagle Eye Polygraph, LLC, based in Batavia, Illinois. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Special Agent after 21 years of service. As a Special Agent, he investigated a variety of federal matters, including drugs, gangs, violent crimes, bank robbery, terrorism, espionage, and healthcare fraud. During the last eight years of his career, he was selected to become a polygraph examiner and received federal training and certification at the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI), which is now known as the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA). He has also received FBI continuing education in Advanced Methods and Techniques, Countermeasures, as well as private Post-Conviction Sex Offender Testing (PCSOT) training. Mr. Cherry is a fluent Spanish-speaker and has conducted thousands of polygraph exams in both English and Spanish at the federal, state, and local levels.  

Since retiring from the FBI, he has held positions as a federal polygraph contractor for various agencies and started his own business in 2014. He has a total of 16 years of experience in the polygraph field and has conducted examinations throughout the world. He is a current member of the American Polygraph Association and has given numerous presentations regarding polygraph, interview and interrogation, and case presentations. He has received specialized training in polygraph, interview and interrogation, statement analysis, the analysis of violent crime, drug matters, and gang matters.  

Mr. Cherry has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Spanish Teaching and a Master of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Iowa.
