THE MURDER OF KAREN BODINE

The body of Karen Bodine, a 37-year-old mother of three, was discovered on January 22, 2007 along a highway in Rochester, WA. She'd been laid on her back in an exposed, splayed out position in a gravel pit off the side of the road. Her head had been placed on a discarded car seat.

She was completely nude except for a ligature around her neck that had been used to strangle her to death.

According to police, there was no indication of sexual assault, but she did have "suspicious marks" on her body, and an unknown male’s DNA on the ligature was recovered. There were two tire tracks that led to where Karen’s body was found.

Skinny, with short, spiky, bleach-blonde hair, Karen had made some bad decisions in her life. She had an arrest record, including for drug use, and had surrounded herself with some unsavory people. But despite her difficulties in life, her friends and family remember her “as a bright, beautiful, fun-loving person who always had a smile.”

Perhaps it is because of the non-traditional life she led that her homicide has not received more media attention. Searching her name does not reveal many stories from back in 2007, nor many updates since.

And that is exactly why we believe Karen’s case is perfect for CrowdSolve.

Every victim deserves justice. And every family deserves closure. With your help, we will try our best to deliver both.
