Dr. Kimberlie Massnick

Dr. Kimberlie A. Massnick started her professional career as a criminologist focusing on serial crime, specializing in serial killers, predominantly sexual sadists. After years of research and lectures Dr. Massnick realized that what she felt was lacking in every aspect of criminology was..... the victim. Since then she has made sure that she speaks about the victims just as much as she does the perpetrator. She feels that the lives' cut short and the stories that should have been shared are just as valuable as the characteristics and reasons behind those who commit the crimes the public finds both fascinating and equally terrifying.

In 2018, Dr. Massnick founded the Institute for Cold Case Investigations which allows her students at Indian River State College to work directly with law enforcement agencies to re-open, convert to an electronic format and investigate actual cold cases that exist within our four county community. This program is being expanded to work with law enforcement agencies within the state of Florida.

2019, saw Dr. Massnick become a true crime podcaster by creating the Murder and Mysteries with Massnick podcast. This podcast explores various crimes, interviews the convicted (via email or video,) the victims and their families and friends. The crimes are gone into detail but this podcast is dedicated to those who have been lost. This is where Dr. Massnick, along with additional education, began to consider herself a Victimologist and then a Criminologist.

Dr. Massnick's "day job" is a professor within the Criminal Justice Department at Indian River State College in Southern Florida where she has won numerous awards and accommodations. Dr. Massnick is thankful for the support of her Department Chair and the College Administration in allowing her to pursue such "out of the box" concepts.
