Laura Pettler


Renowned forensic criminologist named one of the world’s most influential women in forensics in 2019, Dr. Laura Pettler is in her 20th year in homicide and is CEO of Laura Pettler & Associates (LPA) Death Investigations voted #1 in the world three years running. Dr. Pettler is a North and South Carolina licensed private investigator, author, inventor, international keynote speaker, executive producer, singer/songwriter, podcaster, and appears on numerous true crime television shows. Dr. Pettler is a former District Attorney’s Office Investigator and was head of its Cold Case Task Force that resulted in the arrest of alleged-serial-killer Betty Neumar. Dr. Pettler is the forensic criminologist on the Emmy-Award winning show CSI Atlanta, she was the OzTeam Forensic Criminologist on the Emmy-Award winning The Dr. Oz Show and is co-host on Melissa Jesperson Moore’s podcast Life After Happy Face. In partnership with Straw Hut Media, LPA is launching upcoming podcast The Murder Room, of which Dr. Pettler is writing and performing the original soundtrack music of the podcast. Dr. Pettler was also the co-executive producer and host of 2017 International Academy of Web-Television Award-Nominated show Notorious: True Crime Stories with Laura Pettler and is the author of the first book in the world on staging in murder cases. Dr. Pettler is known to solve the toughest staged murders and is the inventor of Pettler’s Staging Taxonomy, The Murder Room method, and The Kaleidoscope Crime Scene Reconstruction System.
