On October 27th, 1989, 10-year-old, Amy Mihaljevic, was abducted from Bay Village, Ohio, an affluent lakeside suburb just west of Cleveland, Ohio. 

Who Killed Amy Mihaljevic? takes a deep dive into one of Cleveland’s most notorious unsolved child kidnappings and murders in search for answers. 

Amy’s kidnapping is extremely unique because a man, claiming to work with Amy’s mother, had called her at home and convinced her to help him pick out a gift for her mother’s recent promotion at work. They arranged to meet after school on Friday October 27th, 1989. Amy was last seen talking to a man in the plaza where they had arranged to meet and when she didn’t return home, it kicked off one of Cleveland’s largest searches. 

106 days after Amy was last seen alive, a jogger discovered her body, some found 50 miles south of where she was abducted. 

In this deep dive I speak with Amy’s father, the Chief of Bay Village Police, Former FBI Special Agent Phil Torsney and many of the people who have kept this case is the spotlight all these years. 

This unsolved case has hung over the city and Amy’s family for nearly 30 years and deserves closure.
