Yolanda McClary

Yolanda Gonzalez McClary grew up on military bases all over the world. After graduating from high school and attending college Yolanda joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 1984 and joined the CSI team in 1994. During her time with the LVMPD Yolanda worked over 5,000 crime scenes. She has specialized training in homicide investigations, shootings, stabbings, sexual assaults, robbery and burglary. Yolanda received the “Unit Exemplary” award in 2007 and was the inspiration and model for Marg Helgenberger’s character Catherine Willows on the television show “CSI”. Both “CSI” series creator Anthony Zuiker and Marg spent time shadowing Yolanda over the course of a year.

 

Yolanda starred in 50 episodes of the hit true crime series “Cold Justice,” has done numerous episodes of “Dateline” as part of the popular “Dateline Squad Room,” and can be seen on Oxygen’s “The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes.” She can next be seen on her special for Oxygen “The Jane Doe Murders.”
